It looks like the child is very much distracted by the gadgets. When children are using gadgets, they don’t feel like studying because these gadgets are more appealing to them. The fi rst and foremost thing to do is to create an ambiance where there are no distractions (phones, TVs, etc). Parents too should follow this as it is not going to work if they sit and watch TV when the child is studying. Further, discuss with the child and explain the importance of basic education and not just marks. Send him to tuition, if possible. When other children are studying at tuition, he will be motivated to study and will also concentrate better.
